Virtual dog walking games and companion adventures
If the walk is what appeals to you, look for a dog that moves through an explorable world with your character. Many virtual dog games focus instead on care screens, training or collecting breeds. Watch an ordinary outdoor journey to see whether walking together is a real part of the experience.

The surroundings are part of the appeal
A walk feels different when the route has recognisable places. A park path, a quiet street or a familiar shop can make a virtual dog companion feel connected to your day. The world does not need to be enormous, but it should give you reasons to vary the route.
Notice whether the dog is visible while you move and whether the camera leaves room to see it. Some games show a pet only when you stop. Others keep it beside you throughout exploration. Neither is inherently wrong, but they create different versions of the companionship suggested by a walking-game search.
Walking and training are separate features
A following dog does not automatically have leash controls, commands or training challenges. Read those features separately. If you want to teach tricks, look for footage of the player giving a command and the dog responding. If you simply want company, a lighter system may suit you better.
Care routines deserve the same attention. Feeding and bathing can be pleasant activities, or they can become obligations if needs expire quickly. Check whether the game pauses those needs when closed. You should be able to choose the amount of responsibility you want from a virtual pet rather than discovering it after becoming attached.
Make a route instead of chasing every reward
For a relaxed exploration session, choose a small outing: leave home, visit one landmark and return along another street. This gives the walk a beginning and an end without requiring a score. It is also a useful test of whether you like the world's atmosphere when a mission marker is not doing all the work.
If the game constantly interrupts that outing with timed objectives, consider whether its pacing fits your reason for playing. A cheerful dog model cannot make a demanding reward schedule feel optional. Conversely, a simple companion can add a lot to a city you already enjoy exploring, even without a detailed training system.

The current Craze City dog is a cosmetic companion that follows the player. It is part of a larger city life sim, rather than a dedicated dog-training game. We are not promising a leash mechanic, breed simulation or a dog-walking profession on this page.

No. Following behaviour and leash control are different features. Check the actual interaction rather than assuming a leash is part of every walking-style game.
Can a simple cosmetic dog still be the right choice?
Yes, if you mainly want company while exploring. A care simulator is a better match when feeding, training and looking after the dog are the activities you want to repeat.
